Frequently Asked Questions
1. I've never tried functional training before. Can I start?
Yes. You do not need previous experience or to already be "fit" to get started. We adapt movements, loads, and intensity to your current level so you can progress safely and confidently from your very first class.
2. Are the workouts too intense for me?
Training is challenging, but it is not the same for everyone. Every class is guided by a coach who adjusts the training stimulus according to your abilities, experience, and goals. Here, intensity does not mean doing everything at maximum effort — it means training in a way that is appropriate for you.
3. How does the first time work?
The first step is to get in touch with us. We will understand your goals, experience, and availability, explain how the classes work, and guide you toward the best way to start at CrossConnect.
4. Do I need to know technical movements or lift weights?
No. You do not need to know technical movements or have any experience with weights to get started.
For those who are just starting or who do not yet feel confident, we have an Onboarding Plan specifically designed to help you learn the fundamentals and begin training safely.
5. How does the Onboarding Plan work?
The Onboarding Plan is designed for people who are starting out or returning to training. It includes 3 individual sessions where we assess your starting point, teach you the essential movements, and help you build confidence before joining group classes. At the end, we guide you toward the plan that best matches your goals and availability.
6. What types of classes can I do?
We offer WOD, HYROX, Strength, CrossKids, Seniors, and Personal Training classes. Each option has a different focus, but they all share the same goal: helping you move better, feel stronger, and build lasting habits.
7. Is there guidance during classes?
Yes. All classes are supervised by coaches who help with technique, workout organization, and any necessary adaptations. You are not training alone — not in the workout and not in the process.
8. Can I train if I have an injury or any limitation?
It always depends on the situation and, when necessary, on the guidance of a healthcare professional. Before you start, we talk with you to understand your context, history, and goals.
Our coaches are prepared to adapt exercises, loads, range of motion, and intensity to different limitations so that you can continue training safely and appropriately. Not training at all is not the solution.
Whenever appropriate, you can also have an assessment with our physiotherapist before starting classes, ensuring that your plan and any adaptations are the most suitable for you.
9. Where are you located and how can I get in touch?
We are located at Rua Alfredo Ribeiro da Silva, no. 279, in Vilela, Paredes. You can contact us via WhatsApp, phone, or email to ask questions and schedule your start.
